Querencia

I am busy with work and life at the moment so I probably won't be posting much for a while but when the day is done and I am settling down for the evening I would much rather  read  than watch tv. I make time for reading and rarely watch tv.

I just read  Stephen Bodio's "Querencia" and it is a beautiful book for anyone who loves the real world ,real people and loves living a real life.

Stephen is a true naturalist/hunter and fine author,  describes moving from New England to New Mexico and finding his "Querencia" He was extremely fortunate in that "he found someone to talk to "
A fine  book of the natural world, love and loss.

It can be found on Amazon of course, read the reviews there.

  1. Glad you had a chance to read Querencia- it really is a great book and, as someone from the SW, I can verify that the people and country as depicted are true to type.

    1. I hope to visit the real southwest one day. I like arrid country. The physical landscape is drastically different than here. We have open country but one of the dominant features here is water. It is everywhere and you cannot enjoy the backcountry without rubber boots. I have been in dry country in Central asia and look forward to travelling in the south west USA

  2. Thanks, Dan. You are always welcome here-- and I would definitely like to see Newfoundland, where some of my ancestors l(on my mother's side) lived.

And thanks Mike, who knows Querencia country well, for the compliments.

You could bring your dogs and birds as well. Anyone coming to visit here has to be comfortable with with dogs.
