Power gone

More than 50% of the people here on the island have lost power. It is not expected on for up to 24 hours. We lost ours early this morning. We are warm and cozy here. Being prepared pays off, also being lucky helps as well.

We have drifts in my yard quite deep. Winds steady 90 gusting 110 km/hour. No vis in drifting snow. Some folks are in hard shape.

  1. I guess the same nasty stuff that hit us a day ago has now reached you.

  2. Yes Michael we had 45 cm of snow and she is blowing. Major fire knocked out electricity. It will be monday or Tuesday before a lot of people get their power back

  3. We got about 30 cm out of it. But the dam thing lasted a good day and a half of non stop snow. Keep the wood stove going, get some of that game out of the freezer, rustle up some good eats and keep mother happy. Stay warm.

  4. Its 27C in the kitchen at the moment.Lots of heat. My only worry is that my daughter is not here, she is in Town, safe, but they are a little cold. Dogs and I are fine but travelling to get my daughter is out of the question. The road north of here is in terrible shape.
